Remember how Mike Allen and Evan Thomas told us that Rick Perry looked like a blithering idiot in the 2012 GOP primary debates because he was tripping on painkillers for his bad back the whole time? Well, uh, is he back on the pills?
Perry said that he was “stunned” and claimed that the president, who is leading a coalition that has been hammering ISIS with airstrikes, has shown a “lack of engagement to stop ISIS.” This shows, he said, that the president of six years “has a hard time connecting the dots from time to time, of understanding,” due to his “lack of executive experience” and “a philosophical void when it comes to understanding what it takes to keep America safe.”
There are plenty of criticisms you could lob at Obama, but six years into his presidency I don’t think “lack of executive experience” really qualifies anymore.
“I think that’s the reason ISIS has gone forward, I think that’s the reason Putin is standing there basically laughing at us as we have one lack of impact after another in the global world that we’re living in,” he said.
Look, English is my native language, and I think I understand it pretty well. However, while I know each of the individual words in the phrase “one lack of impact after another in the global world that we’re living in,” I’m afraid that when you put them together in that way I don’t have the slightest freaking idea what the hell you’re talking about. So to Governor Perry, please, you have to get some help, either rehab for the pills or a nighttime GED course or something. God speed.
